Trail riding can give you an experience like no other. It puts you in touch with nature and gives you the opportunity to spend time with friends and family. Also, the opportunity to explore new and exciting places. Some of my experiences with my very handsome husband and my four dogs are riding through the snow on top of Mt. Diablo, riding on the beach in Point Reyes park, a sunrise ride in Briones Park, riding to numerous waterfalls in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and a competitive NATCR trail ride in Monterey. It's all awesome! Let's not forget the chance to bond with the animal you are riding.

Learning to trail ride can be intimidating. The best way to begin is with plenty of riding experience in the arena, a sensible and safe trail horse and a competent teacher that can react quickly in the event things don't go as planned.
Even the most seasoned trail horse can become spooked or competitive from time to time. A deer suddenly coming out of the bushes, a flock of 30 wild turkeys might present a challenge, a mountain biker coming up behind you or barking dogs the owner can't control are just a few of the situations you might face. Also, how about coming around the corner and seeing 5 coyotes feeding on a fresh kill or 8 vultures that you or your horse didn't see taking flight because you spooked them.

My goal as a teacher is to keep you calm and safe when the unfamiliar and unexpected happens. I will also teach you to ride among cattle, ride safely in the mud, ride through gates while mounted and cross streams and bridges. In addition, how to look out for fellow riders who may be having a difficult time with a horse and how to maintain training and prevent bad habits.

I look forward to giving you confidence through knowledge.
